    I worked at TUI Travel

    Pros

Opportunity for world travel with access to a variety of roles at mid management level. Friendly work environment and hard working overseas staff.

    Cons

Long hours with very little chance of upper management promotion. UK departments and UK office procedures not as innovative or hard working as overseas staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tui needs to be more flexible in today's travel market and not try to fit all sectors of the company into a 'Thomson Holidays' box - There is more to TUI than Thomson!

I have been working at TUI Travel

    Pros

Opportunities to work overseas and meet like minded colleagues and be part of a large organisation.

    Cons

Promotions overseas which are not advertised and "kept under wraps" are given to "friends", favouritism within the group, lack of information from management towards members of staff, general lack of "duty of care" towards staff wellbeing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Regularly ensure that senior resort staff are moved to other destinations to avoid complacency in the workplace. A better "vetting" process of senior management on a regular basis would not go amiss! A clampdown on managers and senior management expenses would be revealing!
