I have been working at Take Care Health part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Flexible scheduling since it's difficult to work as a nurse practitioner and have hourly and not salaried positions. Holistic in the sense that you do everything in the patient encounter process (enter insurance information, take history, take vital signs, examine the patient, perform point of care testing, make a diagnosis, prescribe, take the copay, and explain discharge instructions). Appreciative patients that thank you for being open evenings and weekends so they don't have to miss work to be seen by a provider. The joy of treating simple conditions and patient education for straightforward conditions. A strong manager that is quickly available by phone who is also a midlevel provider that will support you/your decisions in you direct role with patients.

Cons

You are under an electronic medical record microscope as you work alone in a room with no windows for 12 hr shifts. You will get a flood of daily emails and a lot of constructive criticism about your visit times, coding, HEDIS scores, timecard/clock in process (better not clock in a minute too early or a minute too late), and customer/patient complaints about not receiving antibiotics when you diagnosed a common cold. Difficult mentality of a "customer paying for what they want" and your patient/customer "picks" antibiotics/treatment/steroids as if the they are picking a facial tissue brand.

Advice to Management

Stay a walk in convenience clinic and don't turn into a primary care office. Allow the providers to practice good medicine in a personal manner which will make for happy return patients/customers instead of insisting that the providers directly market to the patients as we ask every patient to complete the Gallup pole at the end of every visit. This may make our "customers" think we are less genuine and merely a marketing customer hungry treadmill.
