Pros

Young managers, fun, patient with instruction and dedicated, happy in their roles. The dayforce software is fairly good at allowing you to see your schedule and set availability.

Cons

Employees are asked to vacuum dressing rooms, dust, take out garbage. The eating area is tiny and unclean, dirty rug and a huge trash can near where you eat. There is rigorous oversight of clocking in /out. You can only clock in 3 minutes before your shift. Our hours are frequently cut.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let sales associates work with customers and ring up the customer to close the sale and build relationships. There's no incentive to work harder if you sell merchandise and then can't get credit for the sale.

    Pros

Good loyal customers who shopped the brand for years. Great employee discount! Good pay compared to other retailers.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations! . Can't speak with anyone at corporate about what going on in the stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a boutique store and it should not be open no later than 6pm. They should move some the their better managers to the struggling stores

    Pros

By and large, low pressure. most work 9 to 5 days - don't get in the way of the door at the end of the day (assuming you like that kind of job).

    Cons

Pay was average (goes with low pressure). Organization was VERY hierarchical. At the time former COO was no brain surgeon, but understand it is better managed now, despite layoffs to address over expansion. Systems were lacking in a big way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get right sizing over quickly, concentrate on catelog business, stick to core business (women's clothing) versus additional ventures in kids, and men's clothing - which are not your core.
