Pros

The ladies are great to work with

Cons

Company is lost. Customers and employees both feel this and it is hard to combat on a daily basis. Lack or annual raises in quite a few years. High cost Medical/Dental...double what other retailers currently offer. Lack of opportunity to grow

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat the employees as internal customers, ie; benefits, annual reviews/raises, that you treasure and want to keep

    I have been working at Talbots part-time

    Pros

    Learning how to do the job correctly is not hard. The discount for employees is wonderful.

    Cons

    As a temporary employee, even when I come back to my same position after being at school, there is no opportunity to get a raise. Although the salary is higher than minimum wage, it would be nice to be rewarded for hard work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If there is a problem with a machine inside a store, they should be making sure that the machine gets fixed as soon as possible, whether parts have to be shipped overnight or not. They should be making sure that the working environment is safe and suitable for employees.

    I worked at Talbots full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Salary in position is compensable, targets are set too high to make up for company losses due to bankruptcy none , none, none bonus structure is low rated set for failing.

    Cons

    Expectations and non support, left to fail and when you do no offer to,help or response if asking. Whereas in most companies change is good change is constant and decisions are inconsistent. Changes in CEO has taken place several times in past 2 years. When a store fails they make sure they have someone to blame rather than fix it or help in fixing it they only demand it be fixed.
    Mike Archbold is no longer in command.
