I worked at Talbots full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

good discount, competitive salary, committed coworkers

Cons

don't promote from within, inconsistent communication, lack of work/life balance, discouraged from using PTO (an earned benefit.)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat store teams as valued parts of the organization. They are the front line working face to face with customers (very important). Keep them motivated through respect and consistency of coaching and recognizing successes, not only where there are opportunities (a win is a win= value). Focus more on career growth and the paths within the company to retain talent, coaching towards growth.

    Pros

Fun place to work, enjoy working with customers. Retail is a visually inspiring career, where employees take pride in their work.

    Cons

Employees do not receive proper training, nor HR paperwork, upon transfers to new location. Protocol for following a 30-60-90 day review process is in order to ensure accurate learning of policies and procedures.
