Current Employee - Sales Attendant, Cart Attendant, Cashier

I have been working at Target Canada part-time (less than an year)

Pros

there are few pros about this company . they overh ire team members to set up store and treat them really good during this time to make you believe that it is fast , fun and friendly

Cons

low pay , few hours scheduled after hiring employees knowing that they need to work 35 hours a week and only giving 4 hours a week , too much favoritism from etls

Advice to ManagementAdvice

quit the favoritism and have some feelings for your employees ...slave driving pay of 10.50 an hour ..so not fair

Great Team Culture but Horrible Work Hours

I have been working at Target Canada full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-Great team culture. Everyone gets along really well for the most part
    -Dynamic and challenging

    Cons

-Long shifts. The average work week expectation for an ETL is 50 hours. There are weeks when you will put in 13 hours a day for 7 days straight, especially if you're opening a new store.
    -High stress environment
-Repetitive routines that must be followed. Not a lot of room for innovation or creativity

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work-life balance for management staff needs to be better. The company preaches about how it cares about our lives outside of work, but it does nothing to show this. It's great that we support the community, but otherwise, our personal lives are neglected completely.

So far pretty nice, but with staff leaving left right and centre, what's next

    Pros

They really do care for the Team,
Management works as hard as we do

    Cons

Pay is minimum, scheduling is the pits, either too many hours, or not enough. No balance for life and family, they schedule too many days in a row, then only one day off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more and we will be loyal, you have a good team why loose it for a buck more an hour. Schedule so we can have a life outside of target. Hire more people
