Overall, great company. However, they don't necessarily promote the best or most qualified.

I learned great skills there and realized that sometime everything isn't what it seems.

I have been working at Target

    Pros

    Great pay.
    Fun atmosphere, very busy.
Opportunity to learn new skills all around the store.
    Always something to do.
The customers help train you in customer service.

    Cons

Management are always flaky. They offer an opportunity and may take it away from you.
Everyone there is high strung and are so focused on the Target RedCard to even notice how great some people are doing.
Sometimes the employees quit on the spot so management gets upset and pressures you into finishing everything on time.
You NEVER, I mean NEVER leave on time, if you close. Especially since we close later now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. Sometimes we complain a bit too much.
Let us share our ideas and thoughts. Give everyone a chance instead of pressuring them to be the best when they just started three weeks ago. Don't assume just because a customer complains, it's the employees fault.

I have been working at Target

    Pros

The company is a retail leader. In comparison to some of the other large chain stores, Target stands out because of the high standards every employee must follow. Managers are competent and everyone seems to be on the same page when dealing with truck shipments.

    Cons

Starting work at 4 am during the Christmas season in snow and ice does not make this the safest job. They also have large blackout dates where it is a pain to take time off for any reason at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The blackout dates are there for a reason, but management needs to be more willing to grant some time off. I am not from Spokane so I wanted to go home for a week after Christmas and it was like pulling teeth.
