Pros

Ability to work as hard as you want. Lots of recognition.

Cons

Management is often incompetent and promoted based on who likes the as opposed what they know. Leaders without higher education often look down upon new comers with degrees. Often had to train my leaders, only to have them turn around and speak to me as if I were beneath them.

Advice to Management

Promote HR to HR, AP to AP, and other position appropriately. Nothing is more frustrating than having a former softlines executive tell an ETL-HR how to conduct an investigation when they have only hearb about on in a four week training session.

    Pros

Wage is competitive, can be a fun environment.

    Cons

    Their culture is not evolving.

  2. A one year detour in life that could have been more unpleasant

    I worked at Target

    Pros

The atmosphere was surprisingly pleasant. People were pleasant to work with. If you showed up consistently and on time, you really didn't have any problems.

    Cons

There is not a whole lot of mental stimulation associated with stocking shelves, etc. Being stuck in a windowless, climate controlled environment is not the most fun thing in the world.
