Great work environment, poor pay, poor raises even with outstanding employee reviews.

I have been working at Target full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Fast, Fun and Friendly place to work

    Cons

Pushing red cards on guest so Executives can get their bonus every year. The cashiers or Team Members who get a guest to sign up for "red cards" (Target Credit Card or Target Debit Cards) are not compensated outside of their hourly pay. However, the cashiers are evaluated based on the percentage of red cards they are able to get guests to sign up for. It's all about the ETL's and District Managers getting the kick backs, not the Team Members.

I worked at Target part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Working overnight was good in that your supervisors and coworkers were approachable. The work environment was such that there's work to be done but your superiors aren't constantly looking over the shoulder. Not having to deal with customers for the vast majority of your shift is also a plus.

    Cons

The overnight hours are rough, the work can be strenuous, and, in general, Target's zealous anti-union attitude can be a bit offputting to some people. As it's a big team and you spend most of the time attending to your own duties, standing out can be difficult and as such you risk falling through the cracks as far as promotions are concerned.
