I have been working at Target full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Pay is decent, nice people all the time, well organized system, no pressure environment, and it's usually fun to work.

Cons

When it comes to promotions, either your the one, or your not. Promoting can be a big hassel.

I worked at Target for more than a year

    Pros

    People you work with
Benefits pckg (health insurance and so-forth)
Knowlege you gain if you're cross-trained in several areas (always a + and they love it)

I was there for 2.5 years and overall loved my job.

    Cons

    Minimum wage to start out
    Terrible payraises
    Can be hard to advance
Be careful speaking up with your opinions. They say they're against retaliation, but that isn't below them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When telling TM's you're going to develope them, actually do it. Set a plan and follow through. Be more hands on with your team. Be mindful who you're letting go. You know you won't be able to replace those exceptional TM's.

I worked at Target full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Reasonable pay for retail
    - Good work culture
    - Good schedule/hours (by retail standards)
    - Focus on development
    - Diverse and fun team

    Cons

    - College degree required to promote to ETL. I was told directly that I exceeded the expectations of my position and was ready for promotion but would not be considered without at least a two year degree.
    - Inconsistent standards and expectations from store to store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reconsider the policy that ETL's and above must have a degree. You are losing quality "retail" people because of tis.
