Former Employee - Senior Team LEader in Sandy, UT

I worked at Target full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Flexible Schedule, fun people to work with, and variety of responsibilities

Cons

It's retail, lots of young bosses that think they know everything. Lot's of moving, if you want to sit and do nothing and get paid, this isn't the job for you.

Constant pressure to keep stock into computerized inventory.
Told working to slow when you finish the work as the same time as the other employees
    No real sense of team

Overall, individual stores care more about pleasing upper management and being "green" in their grades than the people.

I have been working at Target full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The lower level co-workers are some of the nicest, friendliest people you will meet.

    Cons

    Your work is unappreciated.
You are set up for failure with being asked to accomplish too much and receiving little help from management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put yourself in your employees shoes and think about other things they are doing before expecting more. Realize that each store is different and what works at one store should not be forced onto another. Grade employees on things that matter and not whatever the hot topic is for the week.
