    Pros

    -Potential for upward advancement
-Immediate and real responsibility in managing a $20-$60 mil/yr business
-Community oriented: Company gives back 5% of profits to the community, store locations conduct regular volunteer/community outreach events
-Ability to interact with and manage a diverse workforce (age, culture, religion, sexual orientation etc.)
-Strong focus on personal development, constant performance feedback provided at all levels of employment

    Cons

-Weekend and holiday work requirements detract from personal well-being (work/life balance)
-"Take it or leave it" development/promotion track
-Transfers to potentially distant (hour or more commutes) store locations every 1.5-2 yrs.
-Typical "politics" that are present in every corporate setting
-Unrealistic expectation to always "manage talent" (constant focus on firing the 10-20% of store team that are bottom performers)

    Advice to Management

Doing something because it is "the right thing do to" doesn't just mean the right thing for the shareholder.

  2. Lot of hard work with little benefits

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They hire people with no experience, so it's a good job for high school and college students looking for employment

    Cons

There is no room for recognition, you are just a number to them.
There are barely any hours available especially if you are new.
