Target is fine but don't plan for a career there.

Former Employee - GSTL in Pittsburgh, PA

I worked at Target full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Never get bored, room to move to other departments but don't expect big raises.

Cons

Your schedule is at the whim of management, which of course varies from store to store. Some stores are extremely understanding about having a life outside of work. Others will hound you into quitting or fire you.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be aware of what you require people to do and whether they have the resources to actually achieve these goals.

I worked at Target full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Continuous feedback and development, projects to keep you busy in times of low workload, and helping hands in times of high workload, no frowning at taking time off or stepping away from the desk, encouragement to network and figure out what you want to do with your career.

    Cons

Workload can get VERY high, and you have to meet deadlines. Obviously this goes with any job, but should at least be noted that the world of retail has many peaks and valleys, and Target is no exception.
