I worked at Target part-time

Pros

Great opportunity for growth if you have a college education.
Great benefits after a waiting period.

Cons

No college education equals no/limited growth
If you get stuck in one store you get stuck dealing with store politics. However I suppose that is the same with every company

I have been working at Target full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly staff, allows site-to-site transfers, comfortable work attire, management sees talent and helps to develop it, employee discount

    Cons

Big company means people can get lost in the mix, transferring to stores can be frustrating as the process takes a long time, some departments are not supported as well as others, retention, if one person makes a mistake it's a team wide slap on the wrist

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The vibe program is a good notion, but immediate recognition and compensation are paramount to folks making minimum wage. Bring back the standards that set us apart from the other big box stores.
