I have been working at Target part-time for less than a year

Pros

You get a 10 percent discount, and the management at my store is pretty good. The customers are generally nice compared to the ones at wal-mart.

Cons

The pay isn't great and you have to back up cashiering constantly when you're working on the sales floor.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more cashiers so the people on the sales floor aren't constantly going back and forth from the sales floor to the front lanes.

I have been working at Target full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Downtown Minneapolis
People are good hearted and want the company to succeed
Lots of advertising dollars spent on employees to showcase cool things the company does (give back, volunteer, new technology).

    Cons

This company is process heavy. There is always a process to do anything and it will take a long time. This is of course cumbersome for small projects that must follow these rules. Target is also personal network heavy. You will not get anything done if you ask a person to do and its their job. Instead you must have coffee's and build relationships and then when you ask a person to do their job, they may do your need ahead of the process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop making huge investment mistakes so Target can go back to being highly profitable.

I have been working at Target full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good pay and bonus programs.
    Great benefits
    Excellent 401k

    Cons

Holiday hours are intense, temporary hires are needed during this time of year. Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint, it needs to be done each year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget we need life balance. We also have families and loved ones we need to spend time with. The pay is good but we need time to enjoy the fruits of our labor. I love this company.
