I have been working at Target full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, dollar for dollar 401 K match, flexible hours. You move around a lot so you get a work out in!

    Cons

You are expected to work at least 50 hours a week, but in reality it is more like 60. You oversee tons of departments with little to no support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't only focus on retention and recognition for team members/team leaders, but focus on ETL's as well.

I worked at Target part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    -Co workers were mostly pleasant.
-Super nice managers, though they were pretty uninvolved.
    -Clear expectations
-Store security always has your back.

    Cons

-Cashiering is a nightmare. If an old lady needs to count her change, your speed will go into "red zone." If a lady with kids fumbles with her wallet, "red zone." If you're in the "red zone," you get "coached."
-If you don't get enough people to open "red card" accounts, you get coached.
-Long, long shifts spent doing nothing but cleaning up.
-Customers at Target always seem really angry. I do not remember a moment where a child was not screaming at the top of their lungs somewhere in the store.
-For some reason, the fitting room attendant has to also be the store phone operator, which adds to the chaos of the already chaotic fitting room.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Cap the chaos.
