I have been working at Target full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Not a 24/7 store, meaning no overnights
Common goals across the store
Lots of discounts made available to team members
Cross-training available
OK benefits for part-time employees
Good benefits for full-time employees
Only 4 levels of management, so no needless going from manager to manager like in walmart
Interview process is quick, two interviews back-to-back
Open door policy is taken seriously with management
Confidentiality is a MUST
You won't get "points" every single time you do something wrong

Cons

Sometimes there aren't enough people to handle the day's rush(es)
Teams may conflict with each other (flow team vs salesfloor team on stocking)

Recommends
Neutral Outlook
Approves of CEO

This was my first job out of college and probably worst job experience I've ever had.

I worked at Target full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I enjoyed the training and development aspects I could bring to my team as an ETL. Helping others reach their goals is pretty great to be apart of. They also pay well.

    Cons

The ETL position is so time demanding it's ridiculous. They work you 10-15 hour days half the time and then they're baffled that so many people were sick or stressed to the point of quitting. The training we received was sub par and half the time they don't even have position ready for you, so you may float or be an extra ETL at a random store. The holidays are a nightmare but that is a given in retail. This position has no support depending on your team of managers and your store manager. If you love retail go for it, if not RUN!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide better training and development for ETLs. Help them understand what their day to day should look like and how to run their section properly, not just enough to get by on visits.

I have been working at Target full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great way to make a lot of money. The people are great, tons of ways to move up. Fast paces environment, every day is different. Target puts a lot of emphasis on personal development. Many ways to help you improve your work and interview skills.

    Cons

Always new initiatives to stay on top of, very heavily metric driven. Work life balance can be a challenge at time. Can often be low scope, you will find yourself having to be very hands on at times (i.e cashiering, stocking, etc.)
