The expectations are out of control and respect from executives is non-existant as they think that they walk on water.

Pros

The only reason to work at Target is that the benefits are ok.

Cons

Pay is decided by who you know and how much they like you. Even though there is a grid to follow they can move codes around and do what they want to get better pay for the men in a team lead role. You can do the exact same job and have the same title but make up to 4 dollars less an hour. The expectations for a team leaders is out of control, they are expected to do the exact same as executive managers but without the pay or respect. Very unfair practices are being extended at Target. The union would be a great idea.

Advice to Management

Stop sitting in the offices and know that you can get out on the sales floor and help the teams out, stop thinking that you walk on water and that all is beneath you. There is a huge dis-connect with executives, team leaders and the team members.

I really enjoy my manager and team, along with the culture and leadership opportunities it allows.

    Cons

The only bad thing about working for Target is the time off and the fact that if you want to work for Target long term, you will have to live in Minneapolis.

    Advice to Management

    Open offices in different locations.

    Cons

sometimes hard to navigate the red tape

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice at this time. Target overall is a great place to work. Sometimes it seems that you could make more money at a different company doing a similar job.
