The expectations are out of control and respect from executives is non-existant as they think that they walk on water.

Pros

The only reason to work at Target is that the benefits are ok.

Cons

Pay is decided by who you know and how much they like you. Even though there is a grid to follow they can move codes around and do what they want to get better pay for the men in a team lead role. You can do the exact same job and have the same title but make up to 4 dollars less an hour. The expectations for a team leaders is out of control, they are expected to do the exact same as executive managers but without the pay or respect. Very unfair practices are being extended at Target. The union would be a great idea.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop sitting in the offices and know that you can get out on the sales floor and help the teams out, stop thinking that you walk on water and that all is beneath you. There is a huge dis-connect with executives, team leaders and the team members.

    - Low pressure
    - Lots of support
    - Exposure to many facets of running a retail business
    - Job training is extensive

    - Very good looking people at HQ (seriously)

    Cons

    - Mindless work in some departments
    - Slow-paced atmosphere
    - Collaborative requirements produce a lack of ownership by many employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Staffing could be reduced significantly at almost every level of the organization. Overemphasis on collaboration removes accountability and makes communication channels opaque.
