I have been working at Teach for America full-time (more than a year)

Pros

A huge challenge. I will force you to grow and develop in so many ways. You are immediately put on the front lines of fighting the achievement gap in public education. Great professional development and networking opportunities, great support staff, very supportive alumni network.

Cons

All corps members will work in school systems that are struggling in some way. Corps members are faced with tremendous adversity and sometimes cannot count on support of school administration and fellow teachers.

I have been working at Teach for America full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's hard. Everyday is different. Intellectually stimulating. Nice to be part of similarly aged group of people committed to the same cause. It's nice to know that you're making a difference in people's lives.

    Cons

It's hard. It's exhausting. You bring work home a lot. Sometime you may feel unappreciated and on your own.
