    Pros

You'll meet some of the most interesting people from all around the country. They do a really good job of recruiting people.

    Cons

There's no balance between personal and work life. You'll spend an entire day teaching and tutoring. Then you'll spend the evening grading papers, planning lessons, and calling parents. This movement operates by draining the youth of young optimists; the real issue requires a much bigger overhaul.

I worked at Teach for America full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Learn valuable skills, gain emotional strength and a thick skin in the professional world, helping others in a very direct and immediate way, some money for college loans

    Cons

No social life, little support, unrealistic expectations of corps members, little compensation, ridiculous work hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Teach For America is good at evolving and constantly trying to improve their organization, but they need to holistically cultivate their corps members more and stop trying to fit everyone into a specific, data driven mold.
