I have been working at Teavana part-time for less than a year

Pros

Free tea great discounts at Teavana and Starbucks. Coworkers make or break the job.

Cons

Dealing with kids and even adults with free samples is always annoying.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't pick favorites, you are holding others back.

    I have been working at Teavana part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    40% discount (which is getting ridiculous to 30... ugh)
    Get to try lots of different tea
    Co-workers are mostly friendly and cool

    Cons

    Selling tactics are ridiculously pushy and not sincere in the least.
    Pressure from upper management policies stresses everyone out when trying to make goals.
    Sampling... people don't like us offering them sugary tea. If they want it, they'll try it on their own will.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus more on what the customer actually wants... pushing them to buy stuff they don't need will only make them avoid the store in the future. You should want to build your customer base not just sell them a bunch of stuff only for them to be dissatisfied and not want to come back!

    Pros

    40% off
    free drinks
    often very cool co-workers

    Cons

    pay is insulting especially with all your expected to do,
    you get graded weekly and only bonus upon 2% of your monthly sales if you maintain an A average for that month which is often near impossible. if your sales arent good enough theyll cut your hours.
    the training manual is the size of a phone book and is ripe with inaccuracies and contradictions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    get off your high horse and start providing your store level employees with decent pay. i often talk with my gm and i know that even your mangers are paid very little but are treated with high expectations
    also ive recently noticed that your taking away alot of single origin teas to make room for fruity flavored teas and herbal teas which is extremely aggravating
