I have been working at Teavana part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Salary- Starting out I make $8/hr. If I meet monthly sales goal I get 2% of my personal sales back. Training- Very interesting and useful in the real world of sales too.

Cons

I usually spend all of my paycheck buying new tea.

Advice to Management

So many corporations have went digital. Make your schedule online.

    I worked at Teavana full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Cool people, great sales training (depending on your situation), free tea all day and discounted products.

    Cons

    They simply don't pay enough for the work they ask you to do. The "commission" is pretty much unobtainable for all but the top sellers.

    Advice to Management

    Train your employees and don't take away hours when someone has a bad week. I saw too many people get hours taken away with no chance to redeem themselves, and it's an inescapable spiral.

    Pros

    Fun local staff, delicious teas, great way to learn how to follow sales protocols, very flexible (depending on manager), hire from within, learn a lot about how to deal with customers face-to-face

    Cons

    A LOT of top-down management, extremely demanding in terms of daily sales, not considerate of the location of the store in terms of goal setting, not much voice for a part-time worker, though they hire from within it's a slow process and not something that most people would want to make a career out of. They also up-sell their bonus system which has not paid that much for the effort put into surpassing goals.

    Advice to Management

    Get to know the workers on a local level, it would help if you hear the voices of the people working the floor. Also, please consider the location of the store when setting goals.
