I have been working at Technica

Pros

Good customer, and interesting work because of customer.

Cons

Dishonest about benefits and education. Had many interviews and quibbled about salary. Tried to pay less than agreed. Very unpleasant dealing with hr...condescending. Sorry I took this job.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should remember the Golden rule. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Spend more money on benefits then wouldn't have such high turnover

A few great people working here, but overall a negative working environment propagated by upper management.

I worked at Technica full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

A few very talented engineers who care a lot about the customer and their mission. Most of the headquarters staff are good at their jobs and care about the company. End of year bingo. You can win an iPad instead of a bonus!

    Cons

The office culture is pretty toxic. There's a lack of communication between the Engineering, Program Management, Business Development and Executives. The two owners of the company are not what you would call "Dynamic Leaders." They mostly stay sheltered in their separate, locked (YES, LOCKED.) executive suite, and the CEO only comes out to strut around the cubicles, only stopping to berate you if he feels like it. It often felt like there was no plan or direction and we were just scrambling from one project to the next. When the finance people keep jumping ship, you know something is amiss.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a strategic plan and share it with the employees. Let them know what your goals are for Technica, how you plan to achieve them, and what the employees can do to help. Make them feel like they are part of Technica's success. Right now everyone is in the dark; come out of your executive cave and LEAD. Or, step aside and let somebody else do it.
