I worked at Technicolor

Pros

The finance industry has always been an area in need for a design revolution, Thomson provided me the vast green field to perform as thinker.

Cons

The retention of good designers was a challenge, as the industry is defficient of experienced talents. Also the lack of internal training contributed to it.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

To invest on each designer, with certifications about the industry, career plan, a creative environment where the group has th bandwidth to innovate.

The French top management are killing this company.

    I worked at Technicolor

    Pros

    Multinational company.
    Many different businesses.
Great people in the US to work with and some great people in France to work with. There are just people at the top who are incompetent (I am speaking of the leadership in France).

    Cons

"Global" at this company really means think like the French do.
Most of the budget cuts and cost savings over the last few years have been made on the backs of the American workers. Even when actions are planned in france, they never happen because the "Labor Council doesn't approve" or it is against French law to lay people off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace cultural differences in different countries, don't constantly compare everything to how it is done in France. When comparisons are necessary, make sure you are comparing the whole picture in each country so that it is "apples to apples".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is almost pointless because from what I heard this branch of Technicolor has shut down since I have worked there.
