From CEO on down, executives and management do not respect or appreciate employees

    I worked at TeleCommunication Systems

    Pros

You will find some very nice people as coworkers.

    Cons

I was told that working at the TCS satellite offices was fine, but working at HQ in Annapolis was not. There is no communications between management and employees. Employees are told about corporate changes when press releases posted on website. No efforts made in the field of white collar job satisfaction. Working environment is barely better than a prison. The CFO brags about how many people he has fired or have quit because of him. Employees are supposed to follow directions and not question anything. That CEO and COO are both Naval Academy grads shows through and through, from corporate colors being blue and gold, to "management" style that is all military. Captain Bligh has nothing on the executives at TCS.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees with respect. Communicate with them regularly. Compensate based on performance, not arrogance. Adopt at least 20th century management practices.
