I have been working at Telenav

Pros

The good: some very good engineers and interesting technology
The company went public in 2010. However, it may not surve 2011.

Cons

The bad: Some very bad managers (Directors) and the worst HRs who dispaly such a bad attitude towards working level employees. The head of HR only smiles towards senior managers or VPs, and treat lower level employees like trash.
the urgly: the company is running out of the gas. 2011 may be the year to witness the its demise.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You cannot have and keep good employees unless you have good management. Good employees make bad managers stand out. The result of the good employee-bad managers tension is that good employees are leaving.
First class managers hire first class employees. Second class managers hire third class employees. Now we have the worst class managers (you should know who they are) make good employees leave. Bad managers will never leave by themselves and they tend to stay for a long time as no other companies what them! As Jack Welch said: you need to fire them!

    Pros

    Flexible working hours
    Interesting mobile work

    Cons

Projects and resources are poorly managed. Lots waste and inefficiency. Copying a few Agile slides from the internet DOES NOT help project management. Some very incompetent people are holding important positions. Some managers should not be managers at all!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire industrial veterans to manage projects and resources. Weed out bad managers!
Good people would not want to work for bad managers. You cannot retain good people until you get competent managers.

I have been working at Telenav

    Pros

    Working hours are flexible.
Engineers are in general smart and competent

    Cons

Poorest management in the technology sector. The company were founded by PhDs, no people management skills at all.
Brown Noses got promoted, but people who did good work don't get any recognitiosn..
No fairness in promotion. It is not worth of working hard or do a good work at TeleNav. Management frequently plays favorism to brown noses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is useless to layoff working level people while keeping bad management.
First things first: Clean up management team, and let Go bad managers and non-performers.
Firing working level engineers should come second
