Training was disorganized and incomplete. Drop you onto the phones without being prepared.

Pros

Working from home means little to no overhead which can outweigh the low pay. They provide phone equipment.

Cons

Training is totally inadequate. Support during Duit week is severely lacking.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve your training for tech support. Include listening to techs and customers on live calls as part of training.

Management are often too busy with admin to notice that they have employees, unless targets stop being met

    I worked at Teleperformance

    Pros

Good equipment, an informal atmosphere, a multicultural environment, generally a good customer base and the opportunity to use foreign languages.

    Cons

Several years pass with no one-to-ones to discuss performance, or any payrises. There is very little opportunity to progress - the few available opportunities are generally offered to those with the best interview / presentation skills, while length of service and proven aptitude in the relevant field are not taken into account. Managers' 'favourites' are more likely to be promoted than others who may have more knowledge or more developed skills. People doing the same role are on very different contracts, with different benefits and salaries. More work is piled on the conscientious while others surf the internet, yet the meagre benefits are shared equally among all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Admin needs to be done, meetings need to be held and shareholders need to be paid, but don't forget the people who are doing the work - there would be no company without them! Listen to the feedback and take time to act on it. Show appreciation by offering opportunities fairly, giving feedback, balancing criticism with praise and implementing a fair incentive and reward scheme.
