I have been working at Teletrac full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Friendly and professional environment. Many opportunities to move around the company and try new jobs and departments. Stable Company. Not sure what the other reviewers are saying, but on my case, Management does care about the employees. Over all, very satisfied with the company.

Cons

Health benefit tends to be a bit pricy for family coverage.

    I have been working at Teletrac full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Have a product that is needed in the market place

    Cons

    The software and hardware is not reliable. Customers are mostly very unhappy, but locked into a 3 yr contact. Sales team must sell at "Teletrac Retail Pricing" to qualify for commission, but if you sell at these prices, you are stealing from customers. If you sell at the market (competitive prices) there is no commission are ever paid out by the company. If you are in sales and happy making 35,000 plus a car allowance of $400 /mo...and like being micro managed then this is the job for you!

    The venture capital group that owns Teletrac needs to clean house.

    I have been working at Teletrac

    Pros

    A very good product, I am not micro managed, they do hire good sales people.
    The company caters to its larger clients both you and they will be happy doing business.

    Cons

    First off there is virtually no training or support. Learning the product is virtually up to you.
    You will be trained for 3-4 days and it is mostly learning Sales Force, filling out paper work, roll play and a little time is set aside for product training. If you sell something in the first 3 months you will be allowed to stay on board if not most are let go.
    In order to make a sale in a competitive situation you will have to discount huge and will not make a dollar in commission but you will keep your job with the whopping base pay of 35K.
    If you sell something every other month you will be fine broke but fine, if you are a senior rep you will make money and you will get leads, even in other peoples territories. There is no respect given to anyone's territory.
    Until you make senior rep you will not be given any business cards,,,can you believe that.
    The company caters to its larger clients but if you have a smaller client expect them to have issues that are poorly dealt with in customer service that you will have to baby sit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Train and respect your sales force, pay them better, protect there territories and for Gods sake give your sales reps proper training, support and business cards.
