Pros

Good scope for advancing your career, lots of avenues to pursue if your motivated. Managment are generally happy and also encourage study in areas other than your core delivarables to widen your knowledge base.

Cons

Large organisation, can feel like your a small cog in a big machine. Although it could feel that way your consistently informed that your contribution is important to the company.

    I worked at Telstra

    Pros

    Lots:
    - Good remuneration and benefits
    - Ability to move within organisation and career progression is impressive
    - Excellent people/fellow workers, talented and supportive
    - Work/life balance good, with flexibility for all e.g. working remotely
    - Supports innovation and creative thinking
    - Management have vision and generally good/nice to work with
    - CEO gets it

    Cons

    A few:
    - Remuneration and incentives are not as good as in the past
    - Unspoken 'reverse' discrimination promoting women even if not the most qualified for roles (although am a fan of the need to rebalance inequality)
    - Too much cutting of middle to senior management roles (the engine room)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep it fresh, don't revert back to bad old 'Big T'/arrogance days and don't let too many talented people leave
