I worked at Telstra full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Though we were an outsourced center for Telstra...I was able to experience the biggest change they implemented in the company. I just wish I can work with them again

    Cons

Even if it's out-shore center that handles Telstra as a client. They should get an agreement to follow one time of operating procedure because it's confusing specially for the people below the management level on which one to follow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lease a facility where all of those out-shore employees can go and report in

Former Contractor - Senior Marketing Specialist in Melbourne (Australia)

I worked at Telstra as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    - dedicated people that really believe in their customers and the company
    - overall a really friend and professional environment
    - lots of short term contracts on offer all the time for top candidates

    Cons

    - undergoing much change which means lots of job losses
    - change is painful and people will naturally resit
    - many people contracting short term with no view to permanent
    - some major ego maniacs, obviously threatened by change and desperate to secure their roles

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - keep going with the transformation programme, the outcomes will be better for your customers
