Pros

The people and culture at Tenzing are very strong and the senior management team wants people to see its employees succeed.

Cons

Senior management flip flop on strategy so often its tough to align your efforts with the company and do meaningful work that will get your advancement in the company.

    I worked at Tenzing Managed IT Services

    Pros

    - great place to work and be respected if you are older
    - if you have a lot of datacenter experience - would be a great fit over other technology industries.
    - VERY good at calculating the metrics of deals (I would give this 80% of the weight for the Pros)

    Cons

    - high turnover, either people leaving due to dissatisfaction of not being "self-actualize" or layoffs.
    - expectations can change overnight in the direction the company takes - occasionally logic doesn't apply
    - too much control by the board, especially over senior management decision making
    - not a cutting edge technology company - the culture is slow to change compared with other technology companies - if you are use to quick adoptions, this is not the place
    - lack of social media focus

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - too much high turnover lowers employee morale - better to freeze hiring than add more people.
    - seems some people have too much influence over others in decision making
    - invest in your technical account management team - that would be the only place not to have a hiring freeze on and to avoid attrition by customers

    Pros

    Lot to learn from pieces you work on
    Small company to get noticed fast
    A lot of broken things, fix them, make yourself shine
    Pretty easy going work schedule. You can work from home no problem
    Able to take time off on your birthday and couple of personal days a year

    Cons

    Very poor and inexperienced management
    No clear career path
    Nothing much going about next big thing
    No energy, no culture, no activities, empty office most of the time
    Teams have none or very limited interaction
    Employees work under capacity

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change the management specially the middle management
    Think about your employees and why they leave
    Employees are your only asset. Find ways to keep and empower them
