Pros

Good benefits, friendly staff, nice campus

Cons

Director level lacks experience and therefore does not value technical skill sets. 90/10 management philosophy casts a negative black shadow on employees productivity. The entire company sits in cubicals

Advice to Management

Understand that people and their skill sets are the sturcture of the company not just ways to promote your own career.

    Pros

The salary is decent and competitive. The benefits are good and include a lot of things missing from other companies. Employees have flexible work hours. The company has a decent cafeteria and there are free sodas and coffee on each floor.

    Cons

Sr. Management is plagued with micro-managers. The entire company is a cube-farm with no privacy. IT management is more interested in forcing their own agendas than listening to the talented people working for them. Project lists keep growing and growing and "nothing" ever gets done. Patching is a joke and no preventative maintenance is ever approved or done. The data centers lack basic features. IT professionals really should pass on this company until they fix the Infrastructure and bring it to modern day standards.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of middle management that has zero experience in the field they are managing. Hire directors that listen to their employees and will stand up to upper management to do the things that are the right thing to do. Teradata says that it prides itself as having integrity, but they need to really practice what they preach. Many good qualified people are leaving because of this.

    Pros

The people are great to work with. They constantly offer assistance whether or not they stand to gain anything. The companies that you get to work with provide excellent experience in a varying array of fields.

    Cons

The opportunity for advancement is limited. HR prevents large moves within the company, so your almost forced to look externally for a significant pay advancement.

    Advice to Management

Create leadership development programs, allow for pay advancement to accompany title advancement, sales is important, but you should also reward the people that make the company what it is after the sale has taken place.
