Pros

Smart people, worldwide network of professionals and opportunities. I worked around the world on a multitude of projects.

Cons

Big company now, so everything of course boils down to the bottom line, which in the consulting business is utilization. There is always pressure.

Good work, provided your office has contracts

I have been working at Tetra Tech full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

competitive benefits, many government contracts with 2-5 yr duration, less rush-rush proposals than private sector. Generally fair annual raises.

    Cons

No enouragement and many obstacles to transferring to a different division, even when openings exist. When a division experiences a downturn in workload, management does not assist employees in uniform sharing of work between offices to keep everyone busy, becomes an every-man-to-himself environment. Management will give no hints whatsoever prior to layoffs, and like all companies, will terminate senior, non-management staff first, regardless of value added.
