I have been working at Tetra Tech

Pros

Stable work environment. People are mostly friendly. Benefits, stock options and 401K are all good. Very organized corporate work structure.

Cons

Company sometimes feels too large and impersonal. I've never met or talked to the CEO/President. Company seems more like a holding company for smaller competing engineering firms at times, rather than a large unified company..

Advice to ManagementAdvice

try limiting the overmanagement and micromanaging of project budgets. reduce the long list of corporate mandates and processes that makes the company feel too corporate and not an engineering consulting company

    Pros

good work / life balance and benefits

    Cons

Tt is divided into regional fiefdoms, making bidding on larger contracts tougher. Tt's strategy is to diversify its professional services, but architects seem to get the better end of the deal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Constant corporate reorganizations create confusion.

    I worked at Tetra Tech

    Pros

Management allowed staff to take initiative in working on projects allowing for room for advancement. Management also attempted keep up employee morale with annual company party. Knowledgeable people offered the opportunity to learn.

    Cons

While allowing for advancement, project managers did not provide enough mentorship and direction for junior staff. Compensation was fairly low amongst industry standards and when employees were light on work, it was i and implied that vacation time should be used.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to provide better compensation and benefits to prevent high turnover.
