Current Employee – been working at Texas Children's Hospital
Pros – Brand recognition in the region, growth opportunity and advancement ability for nurses. The ability to offer many avenues of practice for staff nurses regardless of seniority. Focus on talent selection.
Cons – Leadership development, educational curve among leaders with respect toward younger work force, growth speed. Human Resources department is plagued with bad process in talent selection -- not all of the good candidates are screened appropriately.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on talented nurses that are striving to make a difference. Focus on males in nursing for senior nursing leadership roles. Push the CNO and senior nurse leaders to focus on diversity in nursing leadership across all levels of nursing -- inpatient and outpatient.
