Penny wise, pound foolish

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood people, good benefits and salary (if you rank high enough), eligible for profit sharing and bonus in the same year

Consinstitutionalized use of "rank and yank", constant cost focus distracting from real work

Advice to Senior ManagementPut more emphasis on efficient operations and promote engineers instead of sales people to top positions. The sales people currently running some of the business units don't know what it takes to design a chip, just what it takes to sell it.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
