I worked at Texas Instruments full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - High tech industry, it's nice to be near the cutting edge of technology
    - Comfortable work/life balance
    - Senior Management is very competent
    - Everyone at the company is very nice

    Cons

    - Upward mobility felt like it was gauged by years of experience rather than talent and drive.
    - Cafeteria food is terrible.
    - Company has trouble having fun.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Try to get with the program in terms of culture. The way to retain key employees is not to keep the status quo of the company going.
