    Pros

There is opportunity for travel and you can easily see how your work impacts the bottom line. It is a sales/revenue focused company.

    Cons

It is a sales/revenue focused company through and through. Almost all of upper management is from sales and they won't spare much in the way of "nice to haves" for employees. This is no Google; everything centers around increasing profit/revenue. Everything.

    Advice to Management

Don't stress so much about increasing the company's profits and instead focus on making employees happy. You will reduce turnover and increase profits in the long run.

    Pros

They actually pay what you are promised. Many of the people are great to work with and very talented. Good opportunities for minorities and women.

    Cons

Ageism is rampant. All contrarian views are squashed as part of the culture. Management opportunities are reserved only for those that are "yes" people. Culture of micromanagement is become rampant and causing employees to miss other things that should be important. Innovation and risk taking not encouraged and even short term failures are punished rather than analyzed, reviewed and learned from.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to so closely control the culture of the organization. You are hurting the company in the long term and forcing many, many good and talented people out. Play at least some of the strategy for the long term and not just short term gains. Look beyond the red and green numbers to understand what is really happening. Find other management books to read.
