I have been working at Texas Roadhouse full-time (less than a year)

Pros

Fun atmosphere with the potential to make a lot of money. Shifts go by very fast. Possible to move up in the company. (Lot of promotions from within).

Cons

Basically the only money you make is tips, so if you are slow you make no money. Also tipping out 3% is very high.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your hosts, servers do not mind tipping out food runners or busers because they help us out, however the hosts do nothing and should get paid minimum wage (or higher) but no tip share.

I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time

    Pros

    Wonderful food, wonderful mission statement.

    Cons

Low hours, customer:server ratio is getting smaller and smaller, childish staff (plays in front of customers), manager favortisim, staff partying with each other and if a staff chose to opt out they were given lousy sections and written up for anything possible ie: dropped glass and broke it. These are just a few.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The managing partner should keep up the great work, but all of the other management staff sould work on focusing on priorities, not trying to party with staff and guests.
