    Pros

    - large organization, enough technical expertise in house
    - good communication and support between project teams across different geographies
    - potential to transfer internationally within same job function and expertise

    Cons

    - clear difference in compensation package (vacation days, total package) between french staff and local staff
    - limited chance for career advancement if senior management cannot bring in projects, dependent on economy and development condition of the markets that you branch office cover

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Chart better career path picture for engineering or project management staff
    - Consolidate the many business units of Thales in Asia and spend some branding money. Everyone knows Siemens, GE but hardly anyone know Thales outside of Europe

    Pros

The people are really great to work with, idea and knowledge sharing, willingness to give a hand if required. The work can be really interesting.

    Cons

Empire building at higher levels of management has caused problems, the seeming lack of willingness to do what is best for the company as a whole over protecting individual domains.
Problems with being an Australian cog in an international company interferes with gaining Australian opportunities.
An apparent lack of interest in getting smaller work, only going for big work does not help with keeping teams going when big projects transition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about the company as a whole, as management you need to look at the bigger picture and stop having p*ssing competitions over your head count. Don't be afraid to think smaller, smaller opportunities can either be built or provide stepping stones to bigger opportunities through skilling our workforce.
