I have been working at Thames Water full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Big company, loads of responsibility early on. Thrown into it all. Great to be part of a company on the up. Keeping tap water tasty and safe. Love being able to say I'm part of that.

    Cons

Massive companies take time to change. There's also a lot of layers of management which can dilute messages from the top down or bottom up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of the office and into the field as often as possible.

I worked at Thames Water full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The office is nice and there are frequent fund raising events to get involved in.

    Cons

The HR department is vile. Bullying is rife. You are treated unfairly and promotions are based on who the flavour of the month is. I have never hated a role more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the rot. Have you ever wondered why turn over in HR is so high? It's because there is a fear culture. Bullying ing is the management style in HR and it makes for a nasty place to work.
