I worked at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

* Very big into local investigative journalism.
* Good benefits.
* Still an influential newspaper in Atlanta and Georgia politics.

Cons

* Like all newspapers, cutbacks and layoffs are common.
* Staff being asked to do more with less.
* Some mediocre management.
* No longer dominant in the South. Everything is local, local, local.

    So much potential wasted on petty politics and poor leadership.

    I have been working at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    It is located in Atlanta. Good weather.

    Cons

    Severe lack of communication. Worker's opinion is rarely valued. Same tired hands lead an overworked staff whose biggest challenge is its leaders.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You've hired me to do a job now let me do it. Your micromanaging doesn't make things any better.
