I worked at The Blackstone Group full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

You can learn a lot, there are many highly intelligent people here. If the people that count like you, you are in. Promotion decisions are not always made on merit, but on "who likes you." People without a rabbi, even good ones, will have to work harder to be noticed, if they are noticed at all.

Cons

Lots of pressure to work nights/weekends. Edgy culture is deliberate but overdone. Expected to be on email at all times and respond immediately.

I have been working at The Blackstone Group as an intern

    Pros

Exceptional people, interesting, impactful work, great benefits... These are just some of the things that make Blackstone a great place to work, but what really sets it apart from competitors in the finance industry is its team-oriented mentality. I know that's a buzzword in finance, but Blackstone really believes in it as part of its business model. When you add intelligent people to that team spirit, you get the kind of success that the Company has achieved so far.

    Cons

Work hours, but if you want to be in finance, this is quite standard across all firms. Plus, it's better at Blackstone than other places.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None, really.
