Change Can Be a Good Thing

Current Employee - Senior Product Manager in Elmhurst, IL

I have been working at The Chamberlain Group full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

For the first time ever, the company is looking beyond its four walls for ideas and expertise to stimulate growth by hiring seasoned and accomplished professionals and partnering with vendors who excel in a multitude of areas. This is helping to rid the company of its micro-managed culture that it was marred in the past 20 years by allowing more than just a handful of individuals to make decisions, recommendations, and contributions.

Cons

Still a long way to go. Key personnel who are not getting along with this new culture must go along.
We were used to the constant bullying from the long tenured executives, however the influx of abuse at some of the group meetings is unnecessary. It is turning into a contest to see who is the meanest, when in all actuality, they are the most gutless. Some need real attitude adjustments. A senior communications individual walks around here mad at the world and takes it out on everyone in her path.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Steady the course. Weed out the dino-bureaucrats and lighten up during the group meetings. It will all come together.
