The Coca-Cola Company – “Great Brand. Looks Great on the Resume”

Pros

Coca-Cola is the world's most recognized brand. Individuals going to work for Coke should gain experience and use the learnings to move to another company. Coca-Cola looks excellent on the resume.

Cons

The Management were not open to change or new ideas. It could be difficult to move into new areas and gain experience in new positions. Advancement is also a challenge. You must apply for every position and every promotion, therefore, it is difficult to be promoted or recognized just for doing a great job. Unfortunatley, employees were easily pigeon-holed into a certain position or a certain group. Despite a desire to obtain addtional education (such as an MBA or additional certification) moving from one area of the business to another was a challenge.

Advice to Senior Management

Senior Management should recognize their empolyees more. Addiitonally, Senior Management should become more open to change and open to providing new opportunities to strong employees.
