I worked at The Echo Nest

Pros

Bright, nice people, very young crowd

Cons

Senior management still has a bit of a sweatshop mentality. Not willing to invest fully to get to the next step in focusing of a balance between features and quality.

I worked at The Echo Nest as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Environment is open and friendly, Co-workers are quirky and fun. Free lunch on Fridays is always a plus. Exciting projects and exposure to new music.

    Cons

Few opportunities for upward mobility. Would sometimes sacrifice quality of programming for ease.

I worked at The Echo Nest as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

I was only an intern, but great people who are all passionate about music and technology. People are relaxed, open, and friendly to new employees and interns and you really feel a great sense of community. The company seemed to have good benefits as well as great internal communication.

    Cons

During the day, it can often be extremely quiet... but that's just everyone being that extremely hard at work and passionate about what they do. The second you go up to someone, they're as friendly as can be (as long as they're not in a crunch). In the past, they were a startup and I believe that overall their benefits reflected that (though I think on the better side). Now, though, they're part of Spotify and I'm unsure what the benefits are like.
