I have been working at The Fresh Market full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good company with lots of opportunity to advance. Locations throughout the eastern US and ability to move to different stores.

Cons

Many stores are under-staffed. This makes each team members job become very difficult at times. While there are fewer people, district and regional managers still require a strict level of service. This is sometimes next to impossible when you are so under staffed.

I worked at The Fresh Market full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The associates I worked with and the customers.

    Cons

Management was for the most part unqualified and unable to help. Virtually no training. Expected to achieve in 40 hrs, more than is humanly possible. Corporate gives a lot of talk about being a "family", but if any problems arise, you are on your own. Orders for you, far more than is required, and then blames you for perishables that do not sell. Under staffs your department, and then holds you fully accountable for all problems that occur because of it. The stress is unmanageable and the overturn of employees is remarkable.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to do the jobs you are overseeing so that you can at least be of help. Realize that if employees are helping customers, they can not also do two other task at the same time. Mass turnover should indicate to you that there is a problem you should address instead of just rehiring. Don't allow managers that have been accused by multiple persons of sexual harassment in the past continue to work for your company. It only allows them to continue to do it to new employees in the future.

I have been working at The Fresh Market part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I live close by, and they're an easy company to get evolved with. It's better than working at McD's. Also I like how to store is organised. It use to be a way better place to work at when Angie was manager, now its just ok.

    Cons

It's hard to switch departments, and you have to beg for every raise. (If you get it, but outlook is very very doubtful.)

    Advice to Management

Make some opportunities to move up.; raises, promotions for good work.
