    I worked at The Fresh Market part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    They worked around my schedule for school

    Cons

    The only reason I stopped working there was because the drive was too long otherwise I could not think of one bad thing for this job

    I have been working at The Fresh Market full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Hours - are not crazy for most of us at store level - since store hours are only 9a-9p

    Cons

    #1= PAY stinks -- the levels for pay are at least 30% below national average in grocery industry

    Store level employees and managers do all the work -- District people and higher up's seem to get all the credit --

    Store level employees and managers get all the blame and are written up -- District people and higher up's level get all the credit and are never in trouble --

    So therefore,seems like you would want to get promoted to a Store Manager then move up to a District level or even higher.......so that you will never lose your job, unless you quit - becuase they are never held accountable

    and don't get me started on Human Resources -- what a waste -- they preach positive - but only come in to stores when they want to investigate or fire -- they never seem to care about just being available or a listening ear.....WHICH is what HUMAN RESOURCES is all about -- ALSO -- you never see them -- 1x every 2-3 months......wow

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be consistent -- our store works their butt off......but never good enough....store mangement always get chewed on....but district manager never is their to help.....he just walks around the store saying hello....and then parks at his laptop all day right in the cash office window where we sits or in the back room.........why is it then that only us at the store get in trouble or write ups....but never the district manger that does nothing -- God forbid the store manager in saying anything to the DM's boss....then he will out of a job even quicker.....i would never want a store manager job.....well - at least if i had the same district manager.........SAD
