    I worked at The Gap

    Pros

Flexible schedule, and great discount and benefits for their employees. More paid time off than a lot of other companies.

    Cons

Occasional mandatory overtime doesn't work well with everyone's personal schedules. They used to offer a lot of incentives and they got rid of most of them... bring them back it was really encouraging to hourly employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to understand the jobs that your employees are doing so you wont be so oblivious when things start getting stressful.

    I worked at The Gap

    Pros

    -Great Discount
-Great Benefits and a generous amount of PTO.
    -Friendly staff and fun environment.
    -Great presentation books.

    Cons

-Low payroll to support what the store operates on.
-Gap Card goal meetings become very repetitive
-Unrealistic sales goals to meet at times.
    -Confusing promotions and coupons
    -Low pay
    -Not much training

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase in payroll in stores and stop making the company so promotion driven. Customers are now trained to make a purchase only if they have a coupon. The average unit retail in Gap stores will continue to show a consistent decrease this way. Increase in marketing to drive Gap and build a stronger customer loyalty. Still too many Gap locations consolidate locations and remodel stores to drive new traffic into stores.
