I have been working at The Gap full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Managers who care about you, and want to help you develop. American Brand. Always on trend. Incentives for employees. Always a team effort. Organized and developed. Discount on all 3 brands.

    Cons

If your a top performer, your held on a higher level, and more is expected of you. Long/Short hours. If work isn't done, you must stay back. Staffing/ Floor Coverage can be bad, and then you have to pick up the extra slack.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More Advancement Opportunities for your top performing associates.

Great supporting atmosphere, but they stressed selling GAP cards far too much for this bad economy.

Former Employee - Sales Associate/Cashier in Buford, GA

I worked at The Gap part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

great discount that also applied to sister stores like Banana Republic, no need to wear GAP clothes, fun workplace, great in-store music while working

    Cons

too much stress on selling GAP cards - even your job was on the line if you didn't sell enough. Many people are hesitant to sign up for more credit cards at the moment, so it was tough!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

maybe stress regular sales, since clothes are really what you're trying to sell here.
